Hi guys,I saw this thread and thought i make my own consept hud too.Its not so easy to make it in my tablet so i basically drawed on a piece of paper to show what i think would be nice.Also i thought there will allways be some guys who dont like it.So maybe its possible that victor makes (idk how but..) hud easier to mod for players so anyone can make his own.

Your HUD design is missing many components.

Where are these?
  • Console
  • Time elapsed/remaining
  • Flag states
  • Point indicator
  • Grenades/Throwing knives
  • FPS info

Also, the killfeed looks a bit small at the top right.

Now that I realize it, my HUD design is missing the chat...

HUD revamp?
Hey guys,

Should ACR completely revamp and modernize the HUD? Right now... it's kinda cartoony.

Some things that I think need fixing are the colors of the font, and maybe changing the symbol of the skull with an actual health icon.

Not really trying to copy them, but just to give you guys an idea where informative and minimalistic HUDs work (Arma). I also think Halo's HUD is pretty good and minimalistic. The only problem is the text without a black outline will start to become hard to see in bright situations.

I agree that the cheesy font and text color should be replaced but I do like the big text that shows kills because I often don't look at the small text in the upper left corner so I wouldn't know if I actually killed the enemy.

For the font you can change it by modifying packages/misc/chars_* though it would be better to make a new one and then adding(or modifying) an entry in config/fonts.cfg
I'm not sure if there is a way to autogenerate this from a ttf file(there is a ttf file in the acr folder, but it seems to do nothing)

I can show you how to change it. Most of it will have to be hardcoded though. I'll see what I can make customizable though(leave an option for colors and the like)
